What this usually means
A backup may still be running, no suitable restore point may be available, the restore may have failed, the restored site may reflect an older state, or data changed after the backup was created.
Quick checks
- Open Backups for the correct website.
- Check the backup or restore status.
- Confirm the date and website of the selected restore point.
- Review what the restore was expected to replace.
- Check whether newer content was created after that restore point.
What Kiyo may already be checking
Kiyo tracks backup and restore state, verifies completion where possible and records the selected recovery point. Available retention and schedules come from the active plan or backup option; this guide does not invent them.
What to do next
Do not start another restore until you understand the current state. A restore replaces current data with an earlier saved state. Ask human support to review a failed or sensitive production restore.
Advanced checks
- Review backup job and restore logs
- Check file and database restore state
- Compare the selected recovery point with expected content
- Review storage or permission failures
- Check whether caches still show the pre-restore version
