Troubleshooting

My domain is not working

Check registration, renewal, connection and transfer status before changing technical settings.

What this usually means

The domain may be newly registered, recently connected, expired, affected by a failed renewal, still transferring, or pointing somewhere other than the intended service. External DNS changes can also interrupt the connection.

Quick checks

  1. Open the domain in Kiyo and check its status.
  2. Review the renewal date and payment status.
  3. Confirm which website or service is connected.
  4. Check for a recent transfer or connection change.
  5. Check Kiyo Service Status.

What Kiyo may already be checking

Kiyo checks whether a managed domain is active, whether it reaches the connected website and whether a transfer or renewal needs action. A recently saved DNS change may need time to become visible, and there is no universal update time for every provider.

What to do next

Follow the specific action shown in the domain overview. If renewal failed, fix the payment issue. If connection is pending, confirm the requested change was saved and allow it to update before replacing records again.

Advanced checks

  • Check which nameservers currently control the domain
  • Compare active DNS records with the intended service
  • Confirm the domain has not expired
  • Review provider-side transfer or contact restrictions

Avoid unnecessary DNS edits
